OUR JOURNEY
Michelle Gospic
CEO
As a young teenager I started to understand that good health was a “Gift”. When we came to Canada in 1971 we were told that one of my sisters had Muscular Dystrophy and over time would lose muscle strength, the ability to walk and function, something we all take for granted. We would later find out my younger sister would also have the same disease with the same outcome.
Knowing this changed my thinking of how I took care of myself and the value of my health.
I have been married for 30 years and have two beautiful children. As a mom it was very important that my children ate healthy and be involved in sports for exercise. Through the years I faced some health challenges and staying fit and strong, I believe, helped for a faster recovery.
In 2011 I decided to challenge my health and fitness and at 50 competed in the MABBA Masters Figures division. The experience enhanced my passion for Fitness and how the body adapts to it when challenged with proper Nutrition and Exercise.
In 2020 my daughter was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma. During her 6 months of treatment I felt that exercise and nutrition became more important than ever. I needed to stay strong in order to help my Danica get through this time. I am happy to say she is now in remission with a great life ahead of her. My investment to my health is top of mind on a daily basis. Each year our body changes, so do our choices for Nutrition and Exercise.
The Healthy Nut was created in 2020. The Protein bars are made from whole ingredients and full of nutrients we may not get from our every day diet. It is a fresh healthy alternative when we are too busy with life and need to re-energize. Let us know your feedback on which bar is your favorite.
We are working on adding a Vegan, Gluten Free and Keto Bar to our selection. Stay tuned and follow our journey.
Danica Marincil
Director of First Impressions
& Customer Relations
My name is Danica Marincil and I am the daughter to our CEO Michelle Gospic. I am the Director of First Impressions & Customer Relations at The Healthy Nut.
As a Hospitality & Hotel Management graduate my skill set has allowed me to contribute to our company both creatively and strategically. My primary focus is to ensure our customer’s initial touch points with our company are engaging and have value. This is accomplished by managing and keeping our social media platforms relevant and current. Receiving customer orders and managing them through the entire process ensuring total customer satisfaction. Plus doing anything else my boss throws at me (ha ha!).
As a Cancer Survivor the concept of a healthy lifestyle is now more prominent in my life more than ever. Having gone through a six-month battle with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma it was very important for me to ensure I was nourishing my body in the healthiest ways.
The Healthy Nut bars gave me the nourishment I needed during treatment when I couldn’t think about the thought of food or better yet an entire meal. I am now in remission but still incorporate these bars in my daily life which provide me with all the vitamins and minerals from its natural ingredients. My favourite time to have them is post-work out for a quick recovery.
Outside of The Healthy Nut you will find me actively involved in spreading awareness of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma by volunteering my time with the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. Kickboxing is my favourite passion, spending time with my husband and our little puppy Mia and our families and friends, trying out the newest restaurants (I am a foodie!) and taking in games of our favourite Winnipeg Jets.
I look forward in you following along in our journey watching us nourish our customer’s mind, body and soul.
